Week 15

What a week!  Dad continued to spend his leave with Madison, although on Tuesday he had to go to work so he could have an Classroom Observation done. Madison enjoyed another day on Tuesday at daycare.  While at daycare they took a St. Patricks Day photo, hey we all are Irish once a year.  This week we went to church to have a blessing done for Madison’s upcoming baptism in April.  Again this week Madison spent sometime running errands with day, she was a big hit at the bank this week.  Madison is starting to spend time on her tummy, although she will only do this for about a minute she is doing a great job lifting up her head.  We continue to struggle with sleeping in the crib.

week 14

Can you believe it has been 3 months already? This week Madison started to grip her rattle and her “Easy Grip” ball.  She will only hold the rattle for a few seconds but it is pretty cool to see her do this.  Madison spent time with Grandma Peggy and Cousin Nora this week.  Cousin Nora is such a great helper and is very excited to spend time with her cousin and let Grandma know “Grandma she’s talking”.  Dad was able to spend his first day of leave with Madison.  During his first day of leave Madison ran several errands with Dad.  She did a great job even when the errands ran a bit longer than anticipated.

Week 13

Suzy went back to work this week so Madison had to adjust to some new surroundings.  On Monday Madison spent her first day with Grandma Peggy and Cousin Nora.  Let’s just say she noticed something was different.  Grandma Peggy and Cousin Nora did a great job with Madison, but Madison was very excited to see her Mom when she picked her up.  On Tuesday Madison had another new experience, daycare.  Madison was very uncertain about daycare, but she did make a new friend.  On Wednesday and Thursday Grandma Peggy stayed with us and watched Madison during the day.  Madison again was very excited to see Mom and Dad when we would come home.  A big thank you to Grandma Peggy for all her help this week.  On Friday Dad had the day off and spent the day with Madison, she enjoyed her “normal” routine.

Madison has decided she does not like the crib, she hasn’t been sleeping in the crib like she had been in addition Madison has been having some recent difficulty drinking from the bottle.  It must be all the changes this week that are causing some of these difficulties.

Week 12

We had a busy week.  On Saturday several of Scott’s co-workers came over to visit.  Madison enjoyed meeting everyone including her new friend Connor (who is 7 months old).  On Wednesday Suzy brought Madison to see Scott’s class at school.  The kids were very excited to finally meet Madison.  They asked Suzy lots of questions including the size of Pluto.  On Friday night Madison went out to dinner with Mom and Dad at Rock Bottom Brewery, although we did not take her on a brewery tour she enjoyed the atmosphere. During the week Suzy and Madison ran many errands, they visited Kohl’s, Target and Pick N Save.  This week was Suzy’s last week home before returning to work.  She enjoyed spending time with Madison over the past few months and was going to miss spending everyday together.

Week 10

This week we has some more first’s. We went to our first Church Service at our church. Madison slept through the church service. After church we went out dinner with our friends Brandon & Kim and their son Noah. The noise was a bit much but Madison was very happy when mommy was holding her.

We enjoyed the Superbowl and Madison was up for most of the game.  She was indifferent as to the team that won.

Madison had another appointment this week.  She is doing great and is very healthy.  At her doctor visit she was 13 lbs 5oz.

This week Grandma Peggy stayed with us for a few days.  We were both able to be out running errands at the same time.  This also allowed us to have a night out to dinner.  Suzy and I enjoyed a nice dinner at the Outback Steak House.

Week 9

Can you believe it, it has been two months since Madison was born.  It was a pretty busy week for us, we went for our First Outing as a family. It was Nora’s 3rd birthday party.  Nora enjoyed showing us how she has become better at unwrapping gifts.  Madison spent some much needed time with Grandma Peggy and Aunt Cindy.  She also met m

any on the Anderson (Uncle Brad) side of the family.  On Thursday Suzy and Madison made a special trip out to moms work, Immucor GTI Diagnostics.  Suzy’s co-workers were very excited to see Madison.  Suzy has less than a month before she will go back to work.

We are making progress with Madison sleeping at night.  She continues to sleep through the night for the most part, which is very welcomed by mom and dad.  We are starting to use the crib to sleep in and she is sleeping in longer stretches while in the crib.  Madison has been turning on her side while sleeping, she must like her side better than on her back.

Madison has started to enjoy bath time more.  Bath time was a struggle for a while but now that she can get her bellybutton wet it is going much better.

We have been experimenting with bottles this week.  At first she didn’t like the bottle but she’s starting to give it her approval.  Suzy had to get a filling this week so Madison had no choice in the matter for about 12 hours.

Week 8

This week we keep learning more about this parenting thing.  At times it is getting easier and at times it is getting harder.  Madison is keeping us on our toes in all aspects of life.  She keeps sharing her warm smile with us and usually has a big smile on her face in the morning when she wakes up.  She has been getting better at sleeping through the night.  It started with longer stretches of sleep from 2 – 4 hours t0 3 – 6 hours and now will even sleep through the night for us.  Mom appreciates this the most.

Madison had a visit from her cousin who was very excited to see her.  Cousin Nora is so happy when she gets to visit Madison and enjoys playing with her on the floor.

We tried some tummy time this week using the boppy pillow.  She does it for only a few minutes at a time but we can say that she still enjoys her play gym (on her back) the best.

Week 7

This week Grandma Peggy came for a visit so that Mom and Dad could attend a Baptismal planning meeting for Madison.  Madison enjoyed spending time with Grandma Peggy and we appreciated that she could babysit for us. Saturday night we enjoyed the Packers in the playoffs but Madison was not able to make it to kickoff. That is ok, she didn’t miss much.

Madison is enjoying playing on the floor although at times it lasts only a few minutes.  She likes to kick her legs and make the play gym move.  It is great exercise for her.

Madison is starting to show off her warm smile.

It was a busy week.  We started it off with a Newborn Photo Session with Madison.  She did such a great job getting her picture taken during the 3 hour shoot.  She didn’t cry once!  We can’t wait to see the pictures.

Madison had a visit from her Uncle Chris and Aunt Nicole.  It was great to see family meeting Madison for the first time.

Madison is enjoying playing with her Baby Einstein Play Gym.  She really enjoys to kick her feet and make the toys jiggle.
